Grace Bay Resorts CEO and Developer Mark Durliat announced that Rock House Turks and Caicos residential resort is slated to open in the fall of 2021.
Ground-breaking of the first residential resort tucked into the rugged, untouched limestone cliffs of Providenciales’ north shore took place on Saturday June 22nd, 2019.
During a monthly update, Durliat said that they are excited to share the progress of the elegant new resort, as they edge closer to the project’s completion date.
He said that of the 28 homes currently under construction, most are substantially advanced with completed roofs, while engineers and builders begin installation of key electrical and mechanical equipment; finish carpenters start fabrication of custom millwork, kitchens and timber ceilings, and interior specialists begin drywall works.
“Our team has also received the custom-built European sliding glass doors and windows, which will begin installation soon,” he said.
Durliat added that one of the most talked about architectural features of Rock House is also advancing rapidly as famed stone artisans have now begun exterior facia works, installing the signature native limestone.
“Carved directly from the Rock House earth, then hand-crafted and hand placed one-by-one on cottage exteriors, these stones deliver a spirit and soul to this unique property that must be seen to believe. The legendary masons have also fashioned a number of stone staircases throughout the resort, each chiseled directly from the dramatic cliffs surrounding the property. Finally, enthusiasm is exploding around our resort studio building, which is advancing rapidly with soon to begin interior works following the completion of the roofs in the next few weeks. This elegant central building, which houses eight unique resort studios (only two left for sale!) overlooks what will be the largest and most dramatic pool in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos,” he explained in his statement.
Durliat continued that this unique property benefits from some of the most dramatic elevations and views available anywhere in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
“Previous visitors to Rock House will already know that this unique property benefits from some of the most dramatic elevations and views available anywhere in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Rising more than 65’ above sea level, owners will enjoy amazing ocean vistas, private pools, outdoor showers and incredible privacy. With 21 of 28 units sold and buyer interest increasing daily since the reopening of the airport in August, we fully expect this project to be sold out well before its opening in the fall of 2021. If you have not had a chance to fully explore all that Rock House Turks and Caicos has to offer, we invite you to come and see what all the excitement is about. Thank you to our owners and supporters and we look forward to welcoming you back soon,” said Durliat.
Rock House will feature two pools: a breathtaking hundred foot long infinity pool, perched on top of a 25ft cliff overlooking both the cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean, and a limestone quarry pool, built right into the natural stone, surrounded by ancient trees and designed to blend into the site.
It will be the first pool of its kind in Turks and Caicos. Also on the property will be a restaurant and bar, fitness center and spa, an arrival center, and a beach club bar and grill, all of which will be on the hilltop with ocean views.
Down below the cliffs, there will be a secluded private beach, and a beach club jetty, lined with daybeds, umbrellas and deck chairs, extending 100 feet out into the ocean and including private docks and a spot from which residents will be able to hop onto a boat that will take them on the ocean adventure of their dreams.
